Hello all,
After reading the article on Thomas Inch by a certain Joe Roark, I have managed to track down and speak with Mr Thomas Fenton - who still owns the Lightweight and Middleweight Inch challenge Dumbbells.
Mr Fenton said that he had made a promise to Thomas Inch that he would not let them leave his possession and now has them in a safe place. Mr Fenton also stated that he had one of Thomas Inch's grip machines, but this had gone missing some time ago.
Mr Fenton said that he had "retired" the Dumbbells as there used to be many people who wanted to try to lift them and it was getting out of hand.
I respect Mr Fenton's views on the subject, and have told him that I will not disclose any details (Address/contact number) to anyone else. I have told Mr Fenton that I am very pleased that he has kept them safe for all this time and he wanted me to send him some details of myself so he could know who he was talking to.
I hope that I can build some bridges with Mr Fenton in the future and hopfully one day he will allow me to lift the original Inch challenge Dumbbells - fingers crossed.
All that would remain then would be lift the 172lb Dumbbell that Kim Wood has in his collection - I did send him an e-mail once to ask if this would be possibe but got no response. I will try again.
Best wishes,
Laine
